
Cooking is one of the three secondary professions in WoW Classic. With Cooking you can create many different dishes that can have different effects. For example, they can speed up healing or the recovery of resources such as Mana or Energy, as well as provide buffs.

What’s Special About Cooking in WoW SoD Phase 2?
The Season of Discovery (SoD for short) is the second season in WoW Classic. WoW Classic: SoD is divided into several phases. Phase 2 will start on February 8, 2024.
In Phase 2 the maximum character level is 40. The level requirement for Artisan has been increased to level 41 (normally level 35) for all professions in SoD. This information can already be found in the Trainer menus for gathering professions in SoD.
This means that in Phase 2 the maximum Cooking skill level is 225 (Expert). In Phase 2 it will therefore not be possible to bring Cooking to the maximum skill level of 300.

Which Cooking Recipes Are Important in SoD Phase 2?
Due to the level restrictions, not all Cooking recipes can be crafted in Phase 2 of WoW Classic Season of Discovery. In the following list, you will the most important recipes that will become available in SoD Phase 2. The list also includes recipes that were already available in Phase 1 but are still used in Phase 2.
What’s Special About Cooking in WoW SoD Phase 1?
SoD Phase 1 started on November 30, 2023. In phase 1 the maximum level is 25. For SoD Phase 1, the level requirement for Cooking Expert has been increased to level 26 (normally level 20). This means that in phase 1 the max Alchemy skill level is 150 (Journeyman). In Phase 1 it is therefore not possible to bring Alchemy to the maximum skill level of 300.
Which Cooking Recipes Are Important in SoD Phase 1?
Due to the level restrictions, not all Cooking recipes can be crafted in SoD Phase 1. In the following list, you will the most important recipes that are available in SoD Phase 1.

Where to Learn Cooking in WoW Classic?
You can learn Cooking (Apprentice) and Cooking (Journeyman) from any Cooking trainer. You can find these in all capitals and various other cities. You can, for example, go to one of the following Cooking trainers to learn the profession:

To learn Cooking (Expert), you need Expert Cookbook (costs 1 gold). You can buy the item from the following vendors:

Horde: Wulan in Shadowprey Village in Desolace (26,69)
Where to Learn Cooking Artisan?
To learn Cooking (Artisan), you must first complete a quest line. To do this, your character must be at least level 35 and you must have at least Cooking skill 225.
Alliance: You receive the quest
I Know A Guy... from Daryl Riknussun in Ironforge (60.38).
Horde: You receive the quest
To Gadgetzan You Go! from Zamja in Orgrimmar (57.53).
These quests will lead you to Dirge Quikcleave in Gadgetzan. You will then receive the follow-up quest Clamlette Surprise from him. As part of this quest, you must bring Dirge Quikcleave the following:

- 10x
Zesty Clam Meat
- 20x
Alterac Swiss
Once you’ve done that, you can learn Cooking Artisan.
How to Level Cooking in WoW Classic?
As with all professions in WoW Classic, the same applies to cooking: You receive skill points by carrying out a certain activity. The frequency with which you receive a skill point depends on your current skill level. Please note the following color code for the recipes you prepare:
- Orange : You are guaranteed to always gain a skill point.
- Yellow : You often gain a skill point.
- Green : You rarely gain a skill point.
- Gray : You no longer gain skill points.
How many materials you need to skill Cooking in WoW Classic depends on your luck collecting skill points.
Minimum Required Materials to Level Cooking (1-300)
