Mika Brzezinski is an American television host, news presenter and author. She’s best known for co-hosting the morning news program ‘Morning Joe’ on MSNBC. Prior to that she was an anchor and correspondent for CBS News. Mika Emilie Leonia Brzezinski was born on May 2, 1967 in New York City. Her father, Zbigniew, is a foreign policy expert, and her mother, Emilie Anna, a sculptor. She has two brothers, Ian and Mark. Brzezinski attended Madeira School in McLean, Virginia, followed by Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She transferred to Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and graduated in 1989 with a BA degree in English.

CAREER
Brzezinski began her career as a journalist in 1990. Her first major job was as an assistant at ABC’s World News This Morning. After a year with ABC she moved to the Fox affiliate ‘WTIC-TV’ in Hartford, Connecticut. There she worked as a local news reporter and anchor. She joined the CBS affiliate ‘WFSB-TV’ in 1992. Brzezinski made her debut with CBS News in 1997. She worked as a correspondent and as an anchor for CBS News Up to the Minute. During her tenure, she covered several major events including the ‘September 11, 2001 attacks’ in Manhattan, New York. She’s also contributed to programs like the CBS Sunday Morning and ’60 Minutes’.

Brzezinski worked briefly with MSNBC in 2001 as a co-anchor on the program ‘HomePage’. She joined the network officially in January 2007. She made early contribution to programs like ‘Up To The Minute’, ‘NBC Nightly News’ and ‘Weekend Today’. Brzezinski currently co-hosts ‘Morning Joe’ alongside Joe Scarborough. Journalist Willie Geist also serves as a co-anchor on the show. The program airs weekdays on MSNBC from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. ET. Brzezinski made cameo appearances in the films, Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) with Anna Kendrick, and The Campaign (2012) with Will Ferrell.

In addition to television, Brzezinski is a visiting fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics in the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Her first memoir, All Things at Once, was published in 2010. The book became a New York Times bestseller. Her other publications include Knowing Your Value: Women, Money and Getting What You’re Worth (2011), Obsessed: America’s Food Addiction and My Own (2014) and Grow Your Value: Living and Working to Your Full Potential (2015). All four books were published by Weinstein Books.
